Went live with a interactive web application for online gaming group The Avant-Guards / Blackguards. This expansive, pro bono project afforded me the opportunity to learn two programming languages that allow a web interface to speak to a back end data base. The net result is an application that allows users to dynamically insert and retrieve vast amounts of information regarding this online social group’s primary resource: it’s members. It incidentally also stands as what is most likely the most advanced membership accomplishment tracking system of its kind for any group within the massively multi-player online role playing game, City of Heroes™.
I am now a proud alumnus of Middle Tennessee State University. The odyssey of completion of my undergraduate degree did not take a traditional course, and I am both the wiser for it, and perhaps more appreciative than I might have been at a younger age. I want to give sincere thanks to my professors for guiding me and teaching me, and helping to make my design skills strong. I also have to thanks my Mom for poking me about returning. I know somewhere she is smiling and very proud.

Produced a half page advertisement for the book When You Come Unglued… Stick Close to God for the General Board of Discipleship, the publishing arm of the United Methodist Church. This was a project secured by Dakini Graphics and turned over to me to work up.
My first paid job! Woot!

Continuing internship with Dakini Graphics in Nashville, I created submissions for a set of business papers (business card, letterhead & envelope) for sister companies Oxford Real Estate and River Birch Homes.
The design on the sets of business papers were quite daring. While they were not those chosen for print and usage by the companies, I was very proud that Rita felt that they were strong enough to put in front of one of her higher profile clients for consideration.

Under the art direction of Rita Frizzell at Dakini Graphics, I have been asked to try my hand at creating graphic poster submissions for Hickory Ridge Mall. Rita and I both created submissions for the poster series to give me experience and to give the client a wider selection. They loved them so much they bought them all!
In searching for a good fit for an ad agency or design firm with which to intern for the completion of my undergraduate degree program, I have been blessed to be introduced to Rita Frizzell of Dakini Graphics in Nashville. In working with Rita, I have honed my skills even further, and have been given the opportunity to present work that is submitted directly to clients (rare for internship).
Completed semester long project in Graphic Design program culminating in a showing in the Todd Art Gallery at MTSU. The body of work, entitled Sp34k 2 M3 consisted of no less than eight major pieces including a web site. Subject matter dealt with social relationships and interactions carried on by people on the world wide web.
Returned to Middle Tennessee State University to complete undergraduate work in Graphic Design Program. It had been many years since engaging in formal design classes at university. Things had changed, and for the better. An odyssey begun in 1987 would soon come to fruition.
